'atmospheric pressure. The Containment Vacuum Relief Valves open automatically to protect the containment structure from, excessive vacuum. They also close automatically as the containment pressure returns to atmospheric pressure, thereby preventing outflow of air from containment to the outside atmosphere. There have been two previous occurrences during which operation was in conflict with Technical Specification 3.9.4'(335-76-1 and 335-76-4). One of them (335-76-4) was also due to the opening of a Containment Vacuum Relief Valve. (335-76-42)

Cause Descri tion (continued) relief valve due to vacuum in containment. No further action is planned pending disposition of the proposed amendment.
