Reactor Trip Instrumentation CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

Mode l Reactor Power 81%

DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

During routine operation, it was determined that 12 Steam Generator Level - Feed Flow-Steam Flow Mismatch Circuit had failed.

Action Statement 3.3.l.l was entered at 2319 hours0.0268 days <br />0.644 hours <br />0.00383 weeks <br />8.823795e-4 months <br /> and requires that with the number of operable channels one less thdn the total number of channels1 startup and/or power operation may proceed until perfor-mance of the next required channel functional test provided the inoperable channel is placed in the tripped condition within one hour.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

Equipment Failure

CORRECTIVE ACTION

During troubleshooting, it was determined that the feed flow-steam flow mismatch comparator had failed.

The comparator was replaced from stock and tested satisfactorily.

The Action Statement was terminated at 0201 hours0.00233 days <br />0.0558 hours <br />3.323413e-4 weeks <br />7.64805e-5 months <br /> on August 12, 1980.
