The following DC loads should be shed within time requirements listed to guarantee the design battery life:

The following are DC loads that could be shed from the station batteries, if necessary (obtain DC panel key from SS):

lA MAIN DC DISTRIBUTION PANEL (A battery room):

o Rod drive-MG set control panel, position 4

o Isophase control, position 5

o Exciter equipment, position 6

o Switchgear breaker test cabinet, position 1

1B MAXN DC DXSTRXBUTION PANEL (B battery room):

o Rod drive MG set control panel, position 3

AUX BLDG DC DIST PANEL 1B (south end bus 16 on column near SI pump recirc valves) o Aux Bldg Heat

& Vent cont panel, position 1

SCREENHOUSE DC DXSTRIBUTION PANEL B (screenhouse near MCC G) o Traveling screen control, position 1

TURB BLDG DC DISTRIBUTION PANEL (TURB BLDG basement near fire water storage tank) o Hydrogen panel for 41 generator, position 3

(after degassification) o Mater treatment panel, position 6

o MCC F, position 5

OBSERVE ALL NORMAL PRECAUTIONS FOR HANDLING EXPLOSIVE MIXTURES OF HYDROGEN IN AIR.

1.

Close all H2 manifold bottle stops.

o Valve G-83 o<<Valve G-84 o Valve G-85 o Valve G-86 2.

Close H2 regulator isolation valve, G-81 (gas bottle house).

3.

Isolate hydrogen feed by closing valve G-8 and G-50 (TURB BLDG below generator).

4.

Connect the C02 feed to the bottom of the generator by opening valve G-5.

Open vent from top of generator, valve G-7.

I Open vent isolation valve, GVT-1, to initiate H2 release through vent line.

7.

Fully open C02 manifold header stop valve, G-60.

CAUTION:

DO NOT ALLOW MACHINE PRESSURE TO EXCEED 3

TO 5 PSIG DURING THE TIME C02 IS BEING ADMITTED.

8.

WHEN generator pressure is less than 5 psig, THEN open all C02 bottle stops fully to admit C02 to generator.

Adjust vent isolation GVT-1 OR isolate C02 bottles as necessary to maintain 3-5 psig pressure.

10.

Purge a minimum of 20 C02 cylinders through the generator.

When the purge is complete, the C02 may be shut off by closing the valves in the C02 supply first, then closing valves G-60 and G-5.

11. Stop the DC seal oil backup pump.

12.

WHEN conditions permit, THEN refer to T-31.2, REMOVING HYDROGEN WITH C02 REMOVING C02 WITH INSTRUMENT AIR, to complete purging C02 with air.

Date Perform the following to complete se ndary system shutdown:

1.

Transfer main steam header upstream traps from condenser to Blowdown Tank (Turb Bldg., middle level, South wall near Feed Reg Vlvs).

o Open support trap outlet to blowdown tank (V-3683).

o Close support trap outlet to condenser (V-3684).

o Open A steam header trap to blowdown tank (V-3617).

o Close A steam header trap to condenser (V-3605).

o Open B steam header trap to blowdown tank (V-3604).

o Close B steam header trap to condenser (V-3616).

2.

Secure air ejectors and break vacuum:

o Close steam to air ejector (V-3583).

o Open vacuum breaker (V-3164).

3.

WHEN condenser vacuum at 0 inches Hg, THEN secure gland steam regulator isolation (V-3872) and stop gland steam vapor extractor.
