DPR-42 and DPR-60 Prairie Island Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Docket 72-1 0 Materials License No. SNM-2506 Response to Request for Additional Information (RAI) Concerning 2013 Decommissioning Funding Status Reports On March 22, 2013, Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota corporation (NSPM), doing business as Xcel Energy, submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the 2013 Decommissioning Funding Status Reports for Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant (MNGP), and Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant (PINGP), Units 1 and 2, as required under 10 CFR 50.75(f)(1). Subsequent discussions were held between Xcel Energy and NRC staff during which the NRC requested confirmation that the amount of decommissioning funds identified in the submittal represented the after-tax amounts of decommissioning funds accumulated through December 31, 2012 and, if not, that Xcel Energy provide the after-tax amounts for PINGP and MNGP.

The decommissioning funds identified in the March 22 submittal represented the after-tax amounts. Future decommissioning funding submittals required by 50.75(f)(1) will state this to avoid confusion.
