UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI - COLUMBIA - DETERMINATION OF ACCEPTABILITY AND SUFFICIENCY FOR DOCKETING AND OPPORTUNITY FOR HEARING REGARDING THE APPLICATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI - COLUMBIA FOR THE RENEWAL OF THE FACILITY LICENSE NO. R-103 FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI - COLUMBIA RESEARCH REACTOR (TAC NO. ME1580)

Dear Mr. Butler:

By letter dated August 31, 2006, as supplemented by letters dated September 14, 2009; January 15, 2010; January 29, 2010; July 16, 2010; August 31, 2010; September 3, 2010; September 30, 2010; October 29, 2010; November 30, 2010; March 11, 2011; September 8, 2011; January 6, 2012; June 28, 2012; January 4, 2013; and March 12, 2013; the University of Missouri - Columbia submitted an application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for renewal of Facility Operating License No. R-103 for the University of Missouri - Columbia Research Reactor.

Based on the review of the application, the NRC staff has determined that the University of Missouri - Columbia has submitted sufficient information such that the application is acceptable for docketing in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Sections 50.33 and 50.34. Information pertaining to the opportunity for hearing can be located in 10 CFR 2.309. However, this determination does not preclude requests for additional information as NRCs review proceeds. The Notice of Acceptability for Docketing of Application and Opportunity to Provide Written Comments and/or Request a Hearing and Order for Imposing Procedures for Access to Sensitive Information has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
