RE: inquiry concerning backup power generators I have referred your enquiry to the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) staff with whom I routinely communicate.

To clarify your reference to two reactors, DAEC is a single unit power plant. Are you also interested in information from Kewaunee Power Station (KPS) in Wisconsin, which is also a single unit power plant? If so, I will also contact them for you.

inquiry concerning backup power generators Auto forwarded by a Rule ACE is researching sundry aspects of nuclear power plants. You are probably aware that the Fukushima power plant problems in Japan arose, in part, from the flooding of backup power generators. Please advise me whether the backup power generators for your two power plants reactors are in watertight structures or, if not, at what height they are located. I found nothing online and NRC staff advised me that contacting the power plants project manager would probably be the most expeditious means to obtain this information.

Thanks and I look forward to the courtesy of your reply.
