Thanks John, I had sent basically the same info to the rest of the involved State agencies. I just needed to hear directly from NRC that they agreed.

Out sewer regs are essentially identical to yours.

Since Oct 2006 Entergy fleet samples sewage discharge streams for H-3, monthly. IPEC sewage disch is directed to the Buchanon Sewage Treatment Facility, as is normal for all residential and industrial facilities in the area.

H-3 results have varied from non-detect to about 4000 pci/I, according to Meyer. In a sample collected on 4/30, the analysis reported on 5/7 indicated 8000 pCi/I. The regulatory limit, 10 CFR2O.2003, indicates the monthly average limit of H-3 tosewage discharge to be limited to 1E-2 uC/mI (10, 000, 000 pCi/I). Accordingly, this is well below any regulatory limit, is not reportable, and has no safety consequence. However, in an effort to be sensitive to the interests of various stakeholders in the community, IPEC informed Don O'Neil, Mayor of Buchanon, and Tony Sutton, Westchester Cty. Entergy intends to notify other stakeholders fy telephone today, including the remaining three counties, and various state and fed stakeholders. Meyer indicated that he would provide the Region a copy of the talking points that IPEC expected to discuss.

Entergy considers that the sample is a preliminary result and will be resampling today. I recommended that they also analyze for Sr-90 given their knowledge of the ongoing groundwater contamination in the area.

James Noggle is on-site and isfollowing up on this situation, including sewage system configuration and flowpath.

Hello gentlemen, I passed on the info about the H-3 in the IPsewer to the other state agencies. It looks like there are no regulatory issues here fro our end. Can you verify that Entergy is in compliance with NRC regs on the use of sewers for discharges? Anything we need to talk about on this?
