Routine, announced inspection of the-licensee's physical security program.

The areas inspected included records i

and reports, lock and key control, assessment aids, communications, security organization, and alarm stations.

Results (Units 1 and 2):

An excellent system of records and reports was maintained.

Required reporting was completed within the correct time frames (Section 1.1).

An adequate lock and key control system was maintained.

A failure to

identify employees terminated for cause and the decision not to issue security key rings to security officers were program weaknesses (Section 1.2).

The assessment aids system was tested and determined to provide

excellent assessment of the perimeter detection zones (Section 1.3).

An excellent communications capability was maintained (Section 1.4).

  • A very good security organization was maintained that was capable of

meeting security and contingency plan requirements (Section 1.5).

The alarm stations were redundant, well protected, and the operators

were alert and well trained (Section 1.6).

The licensee's security personnel did an excellent job preventing a-

weapon from entering the plant-(Section 2).
