This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issue Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.

Purpose:

The purpose of this regulatory conference is to discuss the safety significance of a preliminary finding of low to moderate safety significance (White) and associated apparent violations of NRC requirements regarding the calibration and operability of the drywell and containment high range radiation monitors (D/CHRRMs) at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS), and their impact on emergency response operations, before the agency makes a final determination. The preliminary finding and apparent violations are discussed in NRC Inspection Report 05000416/2023090, dated May 18, 2023 (NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML23122A163).
