Areas Inspected.

This routine inspection by the Resident Inspector involved 24 inspector-hours in the area of preoperational test status, administrative quality assurance and independent inspection effort.

Results Of the three areas inspected, no apparent items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Management Meeting

On May 30, 1980, the Senior Resident Inspector att2nded a meeting held in the corporate offices in Jackson, Missiscippi with corporate officials.

The meeting was held to discuss the inspectorc, concern with the loss of management level personnel in the plant staff and the number of vacant j

supervisory positions in the plant staff. Licensee management discussed the actions in progress to correct the situation.

Preoperational Test Program l

The inspector reviewed the preoperational test program schedule and discussed

significant milestones with licensee management. The outstanding items of

inspector concern in the preoperational test areas were reviewed with plant quality assurance personnel.

Plant Tour The inspector toured areas of Unit I control building and diesel generator building. The following observations were made:

In the E.S.F switchgear room (Elevation 113') a wa'tercooler, trash and a.

garbage were observed in a zone IV cleanliness area.

(Previously reported noncompliance 416/79-33-01. remains open.)
