SUMMARY Scope:

This routine, announced inspection was conducted in the area of the Physical Security Program for Power Reactors.
Specific areas evaluated were:
Management Support; Security Program Plans; Protected and Vital Area Physical Barriers, Detection Aids and Assessment Aids; Protected and Vital Area Access
.
Control of Packages and Personnel; Alarm Stations and Communications; and Security Training and Qualification.

Results:
In the areas inspected, violations or deviations were not identified. The i
licensee has identified an issue regarding securing vital area doors and is taking corrective actions (Paragraph 2.b.).
The licensee's actions in this area will be tracked as an Inspector Follow-up Item. The Site Security Program continues to provide adequate and appropriate protection of the vital resources of the Catawba Nuclear Station. The professional performance of the security force personnel observed during this inspection was noteworthy.
