Meeting Scope On January 27,1981,-a management meeting was held at the request of the NRC at Philadelphia Electric Company's corporate office.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the results of the NRC's Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance for the Limerick facility. The period of assessment;was_ ~ "

Areas Discussed a.

A summary of the Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP)

program was presented to include the background and objectives of the assessment program.

The results of the SALP for the Limerick Generating Station were oiscussed in detail. The d'.scussion stressed the singular area of concern, the implementation of ' subcontractor quality assurance programs.

Except for this area, the licensee's performance is considered acceptable.

Licensee Activities The licensee's latest "per cent complete" estimates.-indicate that Unit No.

1 is 63.7% and Unit 2 is 28.8.

The major work effort is being expended on Unit No.1 and currently consists mainly of the following activities:

Installation of the large bore reactor recirculation piping and valves.

--

Installation of the CRD hydraulic control units and jet barrier steel.

--

--

Installation of miscellaneous piping and restraints such as main steam, feedwater, RHR and main steam relief.

~ Reactor pressure vessel (RPV) nozzle modifications, safe ends and

--

thermal sleeve installation.

Installation of RPV incore probe housings and jet pumps.

--

--

Installation of electrical. cable trays and conduits.

.

--

Installation of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Inspection Activities During the evaluation period there were 18 inspections and 2 investigations.

Nine of these inspections were resident inspector initiated, seven construction specialists and one environmental. There was one combined resident / specialist team inspection. These inspections covered' the following areas: pipe erection and welding, storage and maintenance of equipment, design document control, electrical installations, concrete, quality assurance, reactor pressure vessel internals, fire prevention, noncenformance reporting,

environmental, v'entilation systems and control rod drives.
