Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Response to Unresolved Inspection Item 334/78-29-02 Reference NRC Letter Dated June 2, 1980 Gentlemen:

A meeting involving Westine.ouse Electric Corporation, Duquesne Light Company and Mr. McBreart., of Region I, was held at the Westinghouse Research Center on June 20, 1922.

a demonstration of acoustic velocity and attenuation was performed on specimens which included SA-216 Heat No.

4852, SA-533 Heat NO. D1691-2 and SA-508 Heat No. 6027. At the conclusion of the demonstration, Mr. McBrearty agreed that there was not a significant difference in the acoustical properties of the materials.

We, therefore, plan to continue to utilize the existing procedures and calibration blocks in the future conduct of the inservice inspection program at the Beaver Valley Power Station.
