' Safeguards Section Jnsoection Summary inspection on January 19-22. 1993 (Reports No. 50-315/93002(DRSS): No. 50-316/93002(DRSS))

Areas Insoected:

Routine, announced physical security inspection involving Management Support; Protected and Vital Area Physical Barriers, Detection Systems and Detection Aids; Protected and Vital Area Access Control of Personnel and Packages; Alarm Station and Communications; and Fitness For Duty Event followup.

Results: The licensee was found to be in compliance with NRC requirements except for one licensee identified non-cited violation pertaining to 10 CFR Part 26, Appendix A, Section 2.9(c):

prior to the individual being provided an opportunity for an interview with the MR0.

The licensee's actions taken in response to information received from the NRC were timely, comprehensive, and well documented. The licensee's changes in Medical Review Officer notifications assured compliance with the intent of the Rule.

'This inspection was the.last routine security inspection of-the current.SALP

. cycle. The~ majority of 'the core inspection effort-was completed during two previous inspections. This inspection showed that the program. continued to; receive excellent' management support and attention as shown by the substantial

reduction in the personnel _ error and equipment events identified in the safeguards event log report submitted to the NRC. Management support was also

evidenced by the recent procurement of.a computerized' badge fabrication. system i
