RESPONSE TO SAFETY SYSTEM FUNCTIONAL INSPECTION FINDINGS The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge your response dated October 1,
1986, to findings of the Safety System Functional Inspection (SSFI) conducted from May 5 to June 11, 1986, and documented in inspection report numbers 50-269/86-16, 50-270/86-16, and 50-287/86-16.
In general, we consider this response acceptable and are encouraged by the scope of your corrective actions.
Further request for clarification or response to these inspection findings will be handled by the NRC Region II Office through the enforcement process.
The Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation is also reviewing the inspection issues and your response.
Any licensing action as a result of that review will be handled independently by that office.
Should you have any questions concerning these matters, we would be pleased to discuss them with you.
