NOTICE OF VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-254/97022(DRS); 50-265/97022(DRS))
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
This will acknowledge receipt of the Quad Cities Station (OCS) Site Vice President's letter
dated March 13,1998, in response to our letter dated February 13,1998, transmitting a Notice of Violation associated with inspection Report No. 50-254/97022(DRS); 50-265/97022(DRS).
This report summarized the results of the System Operational Performance Inspection peformed at QCS. We have reviewed the corrective actions and have no further questions

at this time. These corrective actions will be examined during future inspect ons.
We have reviewed the additional information provided for violation 50-254/265/97-022-04.
Quad Cities station management accepted violation 50-254/265/97-022-04 and acknowledged l
the lack of attention to detail in preparing and reviewing the subject temporary alterations and
)
50.59 screenings. Additionally, information was provided that clarified the circumstances surrounding example "a" of the violation. The NRC acknowledges the Quad Cities station management position and agrees with their clarifying statements regarding this example.
Therefore, example "a" of violation 50-254/265/97-022-04 is withdrawn.
No response to this letter is required. In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790 of the NRC's
" Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
