NOTICE OF VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-237/97021; 50-249/97021
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated April 6, 1998, in response to our letter dated March 6, 1998, transmitting three violations in a Notice of Violation associated with the failure to perform a written safety evaluation; the failure to update the Fire Protection Report; and the failure to review and revise the Fire Preplans. We have reviewed your corrective actions for the three violations and have no further questions at this time. These corrective actions will be examined during future inspections.
With regards to Unresolved Item URI 50-237/249-97021-01(DRS), where the team had concerns that the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) did not accurately characterize the plant's design-basis or the plant's capability to respond to a potential Dresden Lock and Dam failure, this issue will be addressed in NRC Inspection Report 50-237/249/98007(DRS).
