NOTICE OF VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT'50-249/97027(DRS))

Dear Mr. Kingsley:

This will ackn:bWledge 1*re'ceipt of your letter dated January 12, 1998, in response to our letter dated December 5, 1997, transmitting a Notice of Violation associated with the subject inspection report at the Dresden Generating Station: We have reviewed your corrective *

actions and have no further questions at this time. ; These corrective actions will be examined.

during future inspections.* *. *.*..

In addition, we also reviewed your request that the violation be rescinded. Our review noted that you did not dispute the requirements, or the details of the violation, and had taken corrective actions to avoid "further violations." Therefore, we deny your request to rescind the violation because: (1) the violation is valid, and (2) there are no provisions in the NRC Enforcement Policy for rescindment of valid violations.
