Catawba Nuclear Station is currently loading spent nuclear fuel into NAC-MAGNASTOR dry cask storage systems (Model Number MAGNASTOR). The reference letters registered Cask Identification Numbers CN-VCC-73, CN-VCC-74, CN-VCC-75, CN-VCC-76, CN-VCC-77, and CN-VCC-78, respectively. At the time of registration, these casks were controlled under Certificate of Compliance Number 1031, Amendment Number 2.

On March 29, 2016, Catawba Nuclear Station adopted Certificate of Compliance Number 1031, Amendment Number 2, Revision Number 1. Condition 9 of this Certificate of Compliance requires, in part:

,_1 Document Control Desk Page 2 April 4, 2016 In applying the changes authorized by this revised certificate, the general licensee shall register each such cask with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission no later than 30 days after applying the changes authorized by the revised certificate. The registration shall include the information required by 10 CFR 72.212(b)(2).

Therefore, in accordance with the above requirement, Duke Energy hereby re-registers the use of the above Cask Identification Numbers.

There are no NRC commitments contained in this letter.
