6.6.2.1.b(1) which concerns reactor protection system settings which are found to be less conservative than those established by the Technical Spec-ifications but which do not prevent the fulfillment of the functional requirements of the affected systems. This report describes an incident which is considered to be of no significance with respect to its effect on the health and safety of the public.

Identift ation of Occurrence: RPS Channel 'B' Hot Leg Temperature Instrument inoperable Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

100% FP Description of Occurrence:

On February 10, 1982, the RPS Channel 'B' Hot Leg Temperature indication was declared inoperable due to readings i

i that were lower than Channels

'A',

'C', and

'D'.

Apparent Cause of Occurrence: The apparent cause of this occurrence was the failure of a Linear Bridge in the input circuitry for the RPS Channel

'B' indication.

Analysis of Occurrence: Channels

'A',

'C', and 'D' of the RPS Hot Leg Temperature indication were operational, and the Channel 'B' indicator i

was placed in the TRIP / BYPASS condition during this incident. Thus, the 4

l health and safety of the public were not affected by the incident-

Corrective Action

Channel

'B' of the RPS Hot Leg Temperature indication j

was placed in the TRIP / BYPASS condition. The Linear Bridge was replaced j

and the Channel 'B' indication was calibrated and returned to service.
