have assigned Earl Bousquet as the new resident inspector at the Millstone nuclear power plant in Waterford, Conn. The plant is operated by Dominion Nuclear.

Bousquet joined the NRC in 2014 as a technical reviewer at the agencys headquarters in Rockville, Md., and later was a reliability and risk analyst in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. Most recently, he was the acting NRC resident inspector at the Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant in Lusby, Md.

Prior to joining the NRC, Bousquet served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear mechanical operator. He holds a bachelors degree in nuclear engineering and engineering physics, and a masters in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Bousquet joins Senior Resident Inspector Justin Fuller and Resident Inspector Eben Allen at Millstone. Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public. Resident inspectors are assigned to a site for up to seven years.
