The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Justin Bresson as the new resident inspector at the Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station. The plant, operated by PSEG Nuclear, is located in Lower Alloways Creek Township, New Jersey.

Bresson joined the agency in 2020 as a summer intern and then a co-op student in the NRC Region I office, before becoming a reactor engineer. Most recently, he was the acting resident inspector at the Susquehanna nuclear plant. He earned a bachelors degreein mechanical engineering with a concentration in nuclear engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Justins education, training and commitment to safety will help the NRC in its mission of protecting people and the environment by helping ensure that Hope Creek meets the high standards set by the agency, said NRC Region I Administrator Ray Lorson.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

Bresson joins senior resident inspector Jigar Patel, serving as the agencys eyes and ears at Hope Creek to conduct inspections, monitor significant work projects and interact with plant workers and the public. Resident inspectors can be assigned to any one site for up to seven years.
