Diane Screnci, (610) 337-5330 Email: opa1.resource@nrc.gov Neil Sheehan, (610) 337-5331 NRC ASSIGNS NEW RESIDENT INSPECTOR TO HOPE CREEK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Sherlyn Ibarrola as the new Resident Inspector at the Hope Creek nuclear power plant. She joins Senior Resident Inspector Fred Bower at the Hancocks Bridge (Salem County), N.J., site.

Sherlyn Ibarrola has the experience, training and commitment to safety that will help the NRC ensure the company operates the Hope Creek plant in a manner which protects protect public health and safety, NRC Region I Administrator Bill Dean said.

Ibarrola joined the NRC in 2007 after graduating from Drexel University with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. She took part in, and graduated from, the agencys Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program. Subsequently, she served as a project engineer in the Region I Division of Reactor Projects.

Each of the nations commercial nuclear plant has at least two Resident Inspectors. They serve as the NRCs eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring significant work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
