The Nuclear Regulatory Commissions Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) will hold a public meeting May 12-14 in Rockville, Md., to discuss several issues of current interest. Some of the topics include:

  • The advanced reactor research plan.

The ACRS advises the Commission, independently from the NRC staff, on safety issues related to the licensing and operation of nuclear power plants, and in areas of health physics and radiation protection. The meeting will be held in Room T-2B1 of the agencys Two White Flint North building, at 11545 Rockville Pike. The session on May 12 will run from 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The May 13 session will run from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the May 14 session will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Portions of the meeting may be closed to discuss proprietary information, as well as organizational and personnel matters.
