VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT, UNITS 3 AND 4, ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS REGARDING REVISION TO EMERGENCY PLAN TO CHANGE STAFFING AND EXTEND STAFF AUGMENTATION TIMES FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE ORGANIZATION POSITIONS (EPID L-2020-LLA-0151)

Dear Mr. Whitley:

By letter dated June 30, 2020, as supplemented by letters dated August 11, 2020, November 20, 2020, and April 27, 2021, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2; Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2; and Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP), Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 (SNC fleet). The proposed LAR would revise the SNC Standard Emergency Plan, including the site annexes, to change the emergency response organization staffing composition and extend staff augmentation time from 75 to 90 minutes.

This correspondence addresses only VEGP Units 3 and 4. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment Nos. 187 and 185 to Combined License (COL) Nos. NPF-91 and NPF-92 for VEGP Units 3 and 4, respectively.

B. Whitley A copy of the related Safety Evaluation, which includes the staffs evaluation of the amendment is enclosed. The notice of issuance will be included in the Commissions monthly Federal Register notice.
