7 DRAWING - STD-02-077, Sheets 1 and 2 of 2, Rev. 1.

1. The drawing should specify, by appropriate weld symbol, the requirements for the longitudinal weld joints in the inner and outer shells of the packaging.

2. The material (malleable iron) for the pipe plugs appears inconsistent with the requirements of 10 CFR 971.43(d). The plugs may rust in j place resulting in damage to the packaging. 4

3. Drawing note on material finish requirements does not seem to be associated with a particular drawing note number.

4. Item 5 Detail - The 1/4" diameter hole in the ratchet binder handle

(Item 36)doesnotseemtobecompatiblewithItem38(1/4"dia.

bolt).

5. Item 3 Detail - location of vent line needs clarification (8 7/8" from corner?).

OPERATING PROCEDURES-SECTION 7.0

1. The procedures should contain a statement regarding the need to make a determination that closure seal replacement is current with the ,

seal replacement schedule.

l 2. A check of the cavity drain line and vent line should be required to determine that the pipe plugs have been properly installed using an appropriate pipe thread sealant.

3. Prior to release for shipment, a radiation survey should be performed including a determination of surface contamination to assure compliance with 10 CFR 99 71.47 and 71.87. '

ACCEPTANCE TESTS, SECTION 8.1 The test for shielding integrity should specify the grid size.

MAINTENANCE PROGRAM, SECTION 8.2 The program should address the maintenance of painted surfaces such as identification markings and match marks used for cover orientation.
