VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT REGISTRATION OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS SHIPPING CASK In accordance with 10 CFR 71.12 (c)(3), Georgia Power Company (GPC) is required to register with the NRC prior to the first use of a shipping cask. A review of our records and a confirmatory telephone call to NRR personnel has indicated that a previous submittal requesting first use of shipping casks was not docketed in the Public Document Room and that GPC was not registered as a cask user. Georgia Power Company is requesting registration as a user of these casks. These casks are:

Georgia Power Company's (GPC) Plant Vogtle has two radioactive materials shipping casks that, in accordance with 10 CFR 71.12 (c)(3),

require registration with the NRC prior to first use of the casks.

By this letter, GPC is registering its casks for Plant Vogtle.

Both of the Vogtle casks were manufactured by Nuclear Packaging, Inc.

The model numbers and NRC docket numbers for each of the casks are noted below.
