ORDER On November 13, 1997, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board issued a Memorandum that provides a more detailed explanation of ,

the basis underlying its earlier finding in LBP-97-3, 45 NRC 99 ,

(1997), that Louisiana Energy Services' strategy for deep disposal of waste was reasonable. L9P-97-22, 46 NRC 1 The intervenor, Citizens Against Nuclear Trash (CANT), had previously petitioned the Commission for review of the portion of LBP-97-3 addressing the deep disposal issue. This petitior. is still pending.

Pursuant to my authority under 10 C.F.R. S 2.772(a), the following schedule governs the filing of any supplement to CANT's petition for Commission review of LBP-97-3, which CANT believes 1 is necessary to address the Board's further explanation:

'- The Licensing Board's. additional explanation responds to the Commission Order CLI-97 11, 46 NRf. (Sept. 3, 1997).

1) CANT shall file any supplement to its petition for Commisaion review no later than December 3, 1997, and

.the supplement _shall be no longer than 10 pages.

2) The applicant and the NRC staff shall file any response to CANT's supplement no later than December 18, 1997, and each response shall be no longer than 10 pages.

The supplement and responses shall be served in a manner .-

to ensure receipt by the Commission and parties by 4:30 p.m.

(Eastern Standard Time),-on the dates that they are due.
