) SERVED JUL -81997 ORDER The applicant, Louisiana Energy Services (LES), informed the Commission in a June 27, 1997, letter that one of its partners, the Graystone Corporation, has " requested the LES partnership to j i

grant it permission, under the partnership agreement, to withdraw  ;

from the partnership." The applicant stated that it is

" evaluating this request and will advise the Commission shortly."

This matter might have some bearing.on the Commission's review of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board's determination on financial qualifications. Therefore, pursuant to my authority under 10 C.F.R. 2.772 (a) and (k), the following schedule is l established for comments from the parties:

1. As soon as possible the applicant should inform the Commission of its evaluation of the request. The applicant should explain what significance, if any, its evaluation has on the financial qualifications issue that is currently before the Commission. The applicant's submission.should take the form of a supplemental brief, not to exceed 5 pages in length.
2. Within 7 days after service of the applicant's comments the staff and intervenor, Citizens Against Nuclear Trash, should respond to the applicant's comments in a supplemental brief not to exceed 5 pages.
