requests an additional 7 days in which to file its responsive brief in the appeal of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boarl's Partial Initial Decision, LBP-96-25. CANT requests the extension because counsel for CANT, among other obligations predating the briefing schedule, agreed to preside over an out-of-town conference to be held during the briefing period.

Pursuant to my authority under 10 C.F.R. S 2.772(b), the briefing schedule set forth in CLI-97-03 is amended as follows:

(1) CANT shall file its responsive brief on or before April 17, 1997; (2) the staff and LES shall file their reply briefs on or before May 1, 1997.
