Re: Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Nine Mile Point Unit 2 Docket No. 50-220 Docket No. 50-410 DPR-63 NPF-69

Dear Mr. Hoyle:

On behalf of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation's Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, I would like to express my endorsement of the proposed deletion of 10CFR73.55(d)(8) as announced in the Federal Register on May 10,1995. For the reasons cited in the proposed rule change, Niagara Mohawk concurs that the Elimination of separate access Controls to containment would not compromise the  !

physical protection of the health and safety of the public against radiological j sabotage. The decreased occupational exposure to security personnel, as well as the j substantial savings to be derived from the rule change will be sincerely appreciated.

Very truly yours, )
