Subject:
Comment on Drqft Regulatory Guide DG-1050 (Revision 12 to Regulatory Guide 1.147),
Inservice inspection Code Case Acceptability, ASME Section XI, Dirlslon 1 1
Gentlemen:
Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation wishes to offer the following comments: '
Page No. 8 of the draft Regulatory Guide refers only to Class 1 and 2 Systems,Section XI, Division 1. Code Case N-498-1 was approved by the ASME on May 11,1994 for Class 1,2 and 3 Systems,Section XI, Division 1.
l As discussed in a telephone conversation with Mr. E. O. Woolridge of the NRC on May 27,1997, we understand that the lack of reference to Class 3 Systems was a typogranhical error that should 1 he corrected in Rev.12 to Regulatory Guide 1.147. Therefore, the text on Page 8 should refer to j Class 1,2 and 3 Systems,Section XI, Division 1.
Supporting information has been attached per the Federal Register: May 12,1997, pages 25979 - 25980, Draft Regulatory Guide; Issuance, Availability. If you have any questions regarding our comments, please contact Mr. All Egap at (315) 349-4289. ,
