Site Specific Interim Compensatory Measures for Physical Security in the Current Threat Environment at the University of Michigan's Ford Nuclear Reactor Dear Mr. Mendosa; As requested on 21 June 2002, The University of Michigan's Ford Nuclear Reactor is formally submitting actions that the 've are taking or plan on taking to be used in the preparation of the Confirmatory Action Letter (Enclosure 1) and the site-specific basis and information justifying these actions, plans and alternatives which show how the actions meet the intent of the ICMs (Enclosure 2). The actions in Enclosure I are based upon the guidance provided by the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission on 21 June 2002 and the response and feedback provided during the visit of representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on 29-30 July 2002 and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission review of drafts of these documents submitted on 6 September 2002. At this time, the Ford Nuclear Reactor has not identified any ICMs having an adverse consequence and thus is proposing no alternatives to satisfy the intent of the ICMs.
