APPLICANT'S REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME On June 9, 1980, Intervenor, Carolina Er.vironmental Study Group (CESG), filed motions to admit new contentions .tnd to reopen the McGuire operating license here. Applicant, and CESG, are presently discussing the possibility of entering into a stipulation regarding these motions. CESG's representative, Mr. Jesse Riley, has been out of the country since June 10 and will not return until after the time within which Applicant is to respond to these motions. Rather than presently taking a position on the motions, Applicant prefers to continue to pursue the stipulation with CESG. Accordingly, Applicant requests an extension of time within which to respond to CESG's motions to and including July 7, 1980. Applicant has discussed this matter with CESG and they do not oppose such extension.

Respectfully submitted,
