PETITION BY STATE OF TEXAS FOR PARTICIPATION AS AN INTERESTED STATE The State of Texas, by and through Mark White, Attorney General of Texas, hereby files this petition for leave to participate as an interested state pursuant to 10 CFR a2.715 (a) in the above referenced matter. The State of Texas has a vital interest in participating in the above styled proceeding to insure first that the health, safety and environmental interests of the people of Texas are protected, and secondly, to see that the State's future needs for economical, depen-dable, and efficient energy will be met.

Should requests for a hearing be made by Applicant or through any petitions for leave to intervene, the State of Texas prays that it be permitted to participate in the hearing as an interested state, and the State of Texas further prays that upon final hearing, this Honorable Com-mission grant the people of Texas such relief, either administrative or at law and in equity, to which the State may show itself justly entitled.
