By letter dated July 30, 2013 (Agencywide Document Access Management System Accession Number ML13212A027), the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company submitted a license amendment request to authorize the implementation of 10 CFR 50.61 a, "Alternate fracture toughness requirements for protection against pressurized thermal shock events," in lieu of 10 CFR 50.61, "Fracture toughness requirements for protection against pressurized thermal shock events," for Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1. FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company hereby withdraws this license amendment request.
