Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)

Unit 2 Deletion of Surveillance Requirement 4.8.4.1.a.2 from Proposed Technical Specification Amendment.

File: 89-F-005-419.05; 89-C-056-026 The above referenced letter requested a one-time amendment to the PVNGS Unit 2 Technical Specifications. The proposed amendment was to postpone, until the second refueling outage for Unit 2, the performance of certain eighteen (18) month Surveillance Requirements which cannot be performed at power. This letter revises that request to eliminate postponing Surveillance Requirement 4.8.4.1.a.2 regarding the operability of containment penetration conductor overcurrent protective devices. This Surveillance Requirement was successfully performed during a recent outage and extension of the surveillance interval is no longer required.
