Quarterly Data Report SHNPP Seismic Monitoring Program Jul 1 1979 Se tember 30 1979 Carolina Power & Light Company has completed another quarter of operation of its seismic monitoring program at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant site near New Hill, North Carolina. During this period a total of 166 cultural events were recorded with an S-P of less than 5 seconds. No local earthquakes were detected.

Of these 166 'events, 151 were confirmed as being explosions by the respon-sible companies or agencies. The remaining 15 events displayed the signature and arrival pattern of previously identified cultural events and all of them occurred during daylight hours. Only one of these events was recorded on a weekend or holiday:
