Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 Docket Number 50-346, License No. NPF-3 Implementation of Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1 Improved Technical Specification Amendment No. 279. (TAC NO. MD6398)The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 279 to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS) Operating License NPF-3 in a letter dated November 20, 2008. This amendment implements the Improved Technical Specifications (ITS) at the DBNPS. In this letter, the NRC requested the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) to submit a letter within 14 days after the implementation date to inform the NRC when the amendment was implemented.

This letter is to inform the NRC that the ITS conversion Amendment No. 279 was implemented at the DBNPS on December 13, 2008.There are no regulatory commitments contained in this letter and no response is requested from the NRC. If there are any questions or if additional information is required, please contact Mr. Thomas A. Lentz, Manager -Fleet Licensing, at (330) 761-6071.
