SAFETY EVALUATION FOR TOPICAL REPORT ANP-10300P, REVISION 0, "AURORA-B: AN EVALUATION MODEL FOR BOILING WATER REACTORS;

APPLICATION TO TRANSIENT AND ACCIDENT SCENARIOS"

Dear Mr. Corradini:

During the 647 th meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS or the Committee), October 5-6, 2017, the ACRS completed its review of Topical Report (TR)

ANP-10300P, Revision 0, "AURORA-B: An Evaluation Model for Boiling Water Reactors;

Application to Transient and Accident Scenarios," and the associated final safety evaluation (SE) prepared by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff.

In your letter to me dated October 19, 2017, you provided the Committee's conclusion and

recommendation on the final SE for the TR. The letter provided the recommendation that the

final SE should be issued. We appreciate the Committee's expeditious, in-depth, and objective

review of the TR and the associated final SE.
