VERIFICATION LETTER OF THE APPROVAL VERSION OF FRAMATOME INC.

TOPICAL REPORT EMF-93-177, REVISION 1, SUPPLEMENT 2P-A, REVISION 1 "MECHANICAL DESIGN FOR BWR FUEL CHANNELS: Z4B MATERIAL" (EPID L-2018-TOP-0029)

Dear Mr. Peters:

By letter dated August 7, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19221B577), Framatome Inc. (Framatome) submitted an approval

(-A) version of Topical Report (TR) EMF-93-177, Revision 1, Supplement 2P-A, Revision 1, "Mechanical Design for BWR [Boiling Water Reactor] Fuel Channels: Z4B Material," to the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. Framatome has done so in accordance with our request to publish approval proprietary and non-proprietary versions of this TR, as detailed in the transmittal letter dated June 24, 2019, of the NRC staffs final safety evaluation (ADAMS Accession No. ML19149A489) for the original TR.

The NRC staff has completed its review of the approval version of the TR. The NRC staff verified that Framatome has met the requirements and determined that the submitted -A versions are acceptable for referencing in licensing applications for nuclear power plants to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the accepted versions of the TR. TR EMF-93-177, Revision 1, Supplement 2P-A, Revision 1, "Mechanical Design for BWR Fuel Channels: Z4B Material," is now approved for use in future licensing actions.
