FPL 10 CFR 50.90 10 CFR 50.91 L-2006-137 May 22, 2006 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, D. C. 20555 Re: Turkey Point Unit 3 Docket No. 50-250 Withdrawal of Emergency License Amendment Request No. 185 Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) hereby withdraws, from Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) consideration, License Amendment Request No. 185 forwarded by FPL letter L-2006-136 dated May 20, 2006. There is no longer a need for the request due to the return to service of intake cooling water pump 3B for Unit 3 prior to the expiration of the Technical Specification allowed outage time (AOT) of seven (7) days. The work was able to be accelerated, thereby eliminating the need for an extension of the AOT to avoid an unnecessary plant shutdown.

The withdrawal was verbally communicated by FPL to the backup NRC Project Manager for Turkey Point on May 21, 2006.Please contact Mr. Walter Parker, Licensing Manager, at (305) 246-6632, if there are any questions regarding this submission.
