Acceptance of Request for Amendment to Technical Specification 3.1.7, "Standby Liquid Control (SLC) System" (TAC Nos. ME3437-ME3438)

Mr. Nicely:

By letter dated February 22, 2010, Exelon Generation Company, LLC, submitted a license amendment request for the LaSalle County Station (LSCS), Units 1 and 2. The proposed amendment would revise Technical Specification 3.1.7, "Standby Liquid Control (SLC) System," to extend the completion time associated with Condition B from 8 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br /> to 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br />. The purpose of this letter is to provide the results of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff

=s acceptance review of this amendment request. The acceptance review was performed to determine if there is sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the NRC staff to complete its detailed technical review. The acceptance review is also intended to identify whether the application has any readily apparent information insufficiencies in its characterization of the regulatory requirements or the licensing basis of the plant.

The NRC staff has reviewed your application and concluded that it does provide technical information in sufficient detail to enable the staff to proceed with its detailed technical review of the proposed request and make an independent assessment regarding the acceptability of the proposed request in terms of regulatory requirements and the protection of public health and safety and the environment. If additional information is needed for the NRC staff to complete its technical review, you will be advised by separate correspondence.
