QUARTERLY DATA REPORT SHNPF SEISMIC MONITORING PROGRAM OCTOBER 1 1981-DECEMBER 31 1981 Carolina Power 6 Light Company has completed another quarter of operation of its seismic monitoring program at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant site near New Hill, North Carolina.During this period a total of 52 cultural events were recorded with an S-P of less than 5 seconds.No local earthquakes were detected.Of these 52 events, 45 were confirmed as being explosions by the responsible companies or agencies.The remaining 7 events displayed the signature and arrival pattern of previously identified cultural events and all of them occurred during the daylight hours.Only one of these events was recorded on a weekend or holiday: Date~Da 11-7-81 Saturday GMT at Sta.4 12:21:40.4 4.4 Garner Quarry S-P at Sta.4 Probable Source The signature and arrival pattern of this event are identical to 3 other events recorded during this quarter that were confirmed as being explosions from the Garner Quarry.QQQQQB0277
