QUARTERLY DATA REPORT SHNPF SEISMIC MONITORING PROGRAM OCTOBER 1 1981 DECEMBER 31 1981 Carolina Power 6 Light Company has completed another quarter of operation of its seismic monitoring program at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant site near New Hill, North Carolina. During this period a total of 52 cultural events were recorded with an S-P of less than 5 seconds.

No local earthquakes were detected.

Of these 52 events, 45 were confirmed as being explosions by the responsible companies or agencies. The remaining 7 events displayed the signature and arrival pattern of previously identified cultural events and all of them occurred during the daylight hours. Only one of these events was recorded on a weekend or holiday:
