Box 4 Shippingport, PA 15077 724-682-5234 Fax: 724-643-8069 Withdrawal of License Amendment Request to Implement 10 CFR 50.61 a, "Alternate Fracture Toughness Requirements for Protection Against Pressurized Thermal Shock Events" (TAC No. MF2505) By letter dated July 30, 2013 (Agencywide Document Access Management System Accession Number ML 13212A027), the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company submitted a license amendment request to authorize the implementation of 10 CFR 50.61 a, "Alternate fracture toughness requirements for protection against pressurized thermal shock events," in lieu of 10 CFR 50.61, "Fracture toughness requirements for protection against pressurized thermal shock events," for Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1. FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company hereby withdraws this license amendment request. There are no regulatory commitments contained in this letter.
