Orr joined the NRC in 1997 and before being named the senior resident inspector at Turkey Point, he was a senior reactor inspector in the Region I Division of Reactor Safety in King of Prussia, Pa. While in Region I, Orr gained extensive experience in the resident inspector program as senior resident inspector at the Salem and Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Stations and resident inspector at Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station. Prior to joining the NRC, Orr was a licensed senior reactor operator and control room supervisor at Dresden Nuclear Power Station. Orr served in the U.S. Navy as a shift engineer for the S5G Naval Nuclear Prototype and as a submarine officer aboard the USS Finback. Orr received a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1994, Rogerio Reyes joined the NRC's Region I office in Pennsylvania as a reactor inspector. While in Region I, he worked in operator licensing, systems engineering, and materials and mechanical analysis. Reyes has served as a resident inspector at the Turkey Point plant and the now shut down Crystal River plant near Crystal River, Fla.

Before coming back to Turkey Point, he was the resident inspector at the St. Lucie plant near Jensen Beach, Fla. Reyes received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York University with a concentration in thermal, fluids and heat transfer. He also earned a masters degree in management from the same school. Reyes is also a registered Professional Engineer in New York.

At least two NRC resident inspectors are assigned to each U.S. commercial nuclear plant. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Resident inspectors can serve at one site for up to seven years. The NRC resident inspectors at the Turkey Point site can be reached at 305-245-7669.
