The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued a final site -specific Environmental Impact Statement - known as an EIS - for the subsequent renewal of the licenses for Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 in Florida.

The final EIS is based, in part, on a revised environmental report received from Florida Power and Light. The final site -specific EIS evaluates all the environmental impacts of continued operation of Turkey Point, Units 3 and 4 during the subsequent license renewal term .

The NRCs Atomic Safety Licensing Board is conducting a proceeding regarding the environmental review. Following that proceeding, the agency will make a final decision on extending the Turkey Point licenses into the subsequent license renewal term.
