8.1Whenanindividual discovers afirewhichcanbesafelyextinguished usingfirefightingequipment athand,heshalldosoandthenpromptlynotifytheNuclearPlantSupervisor.
8.2Whenanindividual discovers afireor.explosion resulting inafirewhichcannotbeextinguished usingfirefightingequipment athand,heshallnotifytheNuclearPlantSupervisor overthePAsystemorthecontrolroombydialing333onanyPAXtelephone.
Thefollowing information shallbegiven:8.2.1Locationofthefire.8.2.2Typeoffire,ifknown.8.2.3Whetherornotthereareanyinjuredpersonnel.
8.2.4Extentofdamagetoplantcomponents.
NOTE:Speedinnotification ismuchmoreimportant thanthecompleteness oftheinitialreport.8.3TheNuclearPlantSupervisor shallinstructtheindividual totakeanyimmediate actionheisqualified toperformtoextinguish thefire.8.4TheNuclearPlantSupervisor shallcross-connect thePAsystem,declareaFireEmergency, announcethelocationofthefire,andsoundthefirealarm..Ifsufficient information isavailable, heshallclassifythe-emergency andimplement theEmergency Plan.(1)TheNuclearWatchEngineerwilldirect,byuseofthepage.system,whichmemberswillmeethimatthefiresite,andwhichmemberswillgotothefirehouse.(2)IfthefireisfoundtobeintheRadiation Controlled Area,theRadiation Teamshallbeactivated bytheEmergency Coordinator (NuclearPlantSupervisor).

8.4.1Requesting OutsideFireAssistance:
(1)Ifthefireistoolargetobecontrolled byavailable plantforces,theSt.LucieCounty-Ft.
PierceFireDistrictshallbecalledbytheEmergency Coordinator.
(2)Themainguardstationshallbenotifiedofthelocationof-thefireandtheexpectedarrivaloftheoff-sitefirefightingequipment.
(3)Workingcommuinications shallbeestablished betweentheEmergency Coordinator, thepersoninchargeoftheoff-sitefirefightingorganization, theRadiation TeamLeader,ifthefireisintheRadiation Controlled Area,andtheFireTeamLeader.St.LucieCounty-Ft.
