Subject:
Ir spection of Hydraulic Shock Absorbers (Snubbers)
R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No.1 Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Goller:
In accordance with Mr. Skovholt's letter of October 1,1973, con- [
cerning periodic inspection of hydraulic shock absorbers (snubbers), an inspection of all snubbers both inside and outside of containment was completed on December 10, 1975.
All snubbers were considered operable at this inspection. Finid was added to the reservoir of the "A" Steam Generator Anker-Holth restraints . The source of leakage could not be determined. The present leakage rate is not sufficient for maintenance prior to the refueling shut-down. Upon adding fluid to one'Bergen-Paterson unit, leakage was observed at the accumulator, indicating a possible scored cylinder in the area of the desired fluid level. The unit will be monitored more frequently until plant conditions facilitate the replacement of the accumulator.
Very truly yours ,
